With the marvellous performance of the orchestra, unerringly organized by conductor Eduard Matscheko in respect to dynamics and agogics, the event deserved full marks. Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major with soloist Stefan Haimel from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, turned out to be an unforgettable highlight, the third movement in particular. Equally breathtaking were parts of the allegro movements of Beethoven’s Symphony Nr. 6. Thunderous applause.
