“Sinfonia Christkoenig under the patronage of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra” in the Friedenskirche in Linz: on the programme Brahms’s Double Concerto for Violin,Cello and Orchestra in A minor with the soloists Albena Danailova (violin), concert master of the Vienna Philharmonic since 2011, and Tamas Varga, solocellist of the same orchestra. The comprehensive symphonic structures and the expressive power of the tunes fascinated the audience and left it almost breathless . Beethoven’s fourth symphony, vivaciously conducted by Eduard Matscheko and performed with a lot of spirit and liveliness secured the success with the audience.
Mendelsohn Bartholdy’s “Elijah” performed by Sinfonia Christkoenig in the Friedenskirche in Linz turned out to be a triumph: Under Eduard Matscheko’s enormously powerful conductorship the Linzer Singakademie stormed to the final chorus with great dramatic intensity and power. Soloists: Mara Mastalir, Monika Schwabegger, Sven Hjörleifsson and Klaus Kuttler. The Angels’ Trio was absolutely flawlessly sung by Martha Matscheko, Tabea Mitterbauer and Julia Schnapper (Krone, CM)
